The name Splash kingdom came from a church theater production of the same name.[citation needed] Their motto is “To glorify God while providing a safe and fun recreational experience for families.” The aviation-themed waterpark along the Interstate 30 south service road in Greenville had been scheduled to open May 28, although the spring rains forced the opening date to June 4, and then to 11 a.m. Monday. Dozens of people, anxious to be the first down the slides or floating the lazy river, had to wait just a little while longer, while the absolute final touches were added to the park — including allowing some wet paint to dry — before an inspector with the City of Greenville allowed the facility to open its gates. Splash Kingdom will be operating daily, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday through Aug. 21 and also Aug. 27-28 and Sept. 3-5. The park features attractions including the Splashport Kids’ Area; the Maverick and Goose, Dog Fight, and Splash Landing slides, the Jet Stream lazy river and more. Tickets will be $23.95 per person for individuals 42 inches tall and above; $18.95 each for those below 42 inches, who are 65 or older or who have a military ID, with no charge for children up to 2 year old. A family combo pack, which includes four tickets and four meal vouchers, is $105. If you are ever in need of excavation, click here.
